So I promised myself I would work on a new art piece daily, but as usual life gets in the way. I had to put my “day 2” project on hold because I was at the Mets Game!
Thinking of projects ideas and wondering what to work on next, I thought that since I was at the baseball game, my next project would be to focus on a sporting event! I took a bunch of pictures and decided to draw one of them! My painting is of Daniel Murphy from the New York Mets.
For now, I finished my Mets Sporting Event (not completed)

…I spent over 10 hours on this piece and it’s still not complete but I decided it was time to stop and focus on a new project for my Daily Sketches (Unfortunately…”Daily” turned out to be 2 days for this piece and my “day 3” and “day 4” sketches were sadly bumped – I will still be doing them but I was sad to see it was so far pushed behind).
My goal is to work on something for an hour (or less) – maybe 3 hours at most and to feel satisfied with it, while giving me time to work on other projects in the day that need to be focused on, but not pushed aside.
I’m still learning to let go and loosen up, it’s more difficult than I thought it would be. This is a learning process that will obviously take time, I’m just happy to start somewhere. I’ve always been one to love a good challenge!

…and so the list continues
for my day 4 and day 5 project, i think i’m going to keep it simple and work on some gesture drawing studies for the human figure and animals!
